The short version: the app has no account, no ads, and no analytics or tracking of any kind. Everything it saves is either on your device or in your own iCloud, and North Arc Collective runs no server that receives it. This website is a separate matter, covered at the end of this page.

That is the complete list. Only the list of plates found today is synced to iCloud. Coordinates are not — they stay in the file on your device, and reach iCloud only if you back up your whole device to iCloud Backup.
Syncing is automatic: it happens whenever your device is signed in to iCloud, and there is no setting for it in the app. If you are not signed in, nothing leaves your device and the app works exactly as it otherwise would. Because iCloud storage belongs to your Apple Account rather than to us, what is kept there falls under Apple’s privacy policy. We cannot read it, and we have no way to.
Location is optional and off until you turn it on. When it is on, the app reads your position only while you are using it, and only to record where a plate was spotted so your history has a map. Those coordinates stay in your own history. They are never sent to us, never sold, and never used for advertising. Turning location off in iOS Settings stops it immediately and leaves earlier pins in place.
The app makes no network requests other than to Apple’s own iCloud. There is no North Arc Collective server to send anything to.
This release is single-player. There is nothing to sign up for, no profile, no leaderboard and no way for another person to see your board. A mode for playing with friends is in development; if it ships, this page will be updated before it does, and the change will be noted in the app’s release notes.
The game is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to disclose.
Deleting the app removes everything stored on the device. What the app keeps in iCloud is only the current day’s list of plates, and it clears out earlier days by itself. Signing out of iCloud stops any further syncing. If there is anything else you want removed, write to support@northarc.co and we will help.
Everything above is about the app. apps.northarc.co is a separate thing, and it does
touch a couple of services.
Visit counts. The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which records page views and referrers. It sets no cookies and no persistent identifier, so it cannot follow you between visits or between sites, and there is nothing here for you to consent to or opt out of.
The support form. If you use the form on the support page, what you type is sent to a small service we run at Cloudflare, which files it as a report in our private issue tracker at GitHub. That means the text of your report, and your email address if you choose to give one, are stored there. The email address is used to reply to you and for nothing else — no mailing list, no marketing, and it is never sold or passed on. The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person rather than a script is submitting it.
You never have to use the form. Emailing support@northarc.co reaches the same people, and reports filed either way are deleted once the underlying issue is closed and shipped. Ask us and we will delete yours sooner.
If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new effective date. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
